NZ Population - Social Studies

This is a graph that shows us the population of Europeans and Maori from 1836 through to 1901. The European population shot up and passed the Maori by a lot. 

The Maori population was down by a lot due to diseases and conflict between the Maori and Europeans along with more and more people entering New Zealand.

With less Maori population there were fewer battles and conflicts between the two. 

  

Bucket hat - Textiles

In textiles recently we have been working on making a bucket hat. Before choosing our material we had to cut our templates out. Once we cut the templates out we then found the material we wanted and then folded the material and pinned it to the side the had the fold so we would get one cut-out piece of fabric. Once all of the pieces were cut out it was time to pin the top of the hate to the rim and start to sew. That is the part that I'm currently up to, whilst sewing there was a bit of a problem. the top was not lined up properly and I needed to unpick it, repin and resew it which is the part I need to do next.
