Poetry

For the past few weeks my class and I have been working with Mr Scott on poetry.

I chose this topic because I love winter and I already had an idea on what to write. I did a free verse cause it seemed like the appropriate thing for me to do for the topic I chose.

I've never really been into poetry or writing poem but it hasn't been to bad

Winter wonder land

The snow is white and glossy like looking at the clouds .
Like a morning frost on the long stringy green grass.
I feel awaken like the dragon in the hobbit but less angry  .
And like the dragon I feel tired and disappointed to be awake.
But I feel happy because when I looked outside I see the white thick sheet of small ice also known as snow covering the garden.
I feel the surface sink as I walk, my shoes fill with the watery ice.

I walk in the snow with my feet buried.

I look around,

I see people fall like the snowflakes.
this is where i got my inspiration

I chose this topic because I love tee wolf so much and from the first time we started I wanted to do a poem to do with teen wolf so I did.
I did a haiku for this because I wanted to try something I haven't done before since it was my first haiku I think I did well.
I don't really like poetry because it just isn't me and what I'd like to do.

Drama changes and challenges

Today I will be blogging about drama earlier this week.
This week is our second week of drama and for this week we were given a sheet of paper each. On that paper we needed to write down tree people who inspire us to be physically active. I put my brother Adam and my friend Shontelle. I did my brother cause no matter how much he works or how tiered he is he always finds time to keep physically active. I also did my friend cause she does one hour of netball training and plays on Saturday for 40 minutes. Once we were in our groups we had to do hot seating we all decided that Shontelle would be in the hot seat. Acting as Temalisi Fakahokotau. Hope and I had to write five questions for her to ask in front of the class. then we presented in front of the class

Here is our video.

Just in case i misted something we did this slide show
has it all on here for you to have a look.
Thank you for coming on my blog.

Drama Hurumanu

This week was our first week of the hurumanu. For drama this week we started off by playing sixteen steps, tequila, copy circle, statues and two truths and a Lie and yes lets,
the games were different to the game the I normal play but they were really fun. During drama we learn more about others and the four aspects of Hauora and how it relates to us.
When I first hear that we were doing drama I thought that I wouldn't enjoy drama but I was wrong it was fun, funny, education, enjoyably and interesting

This is a slide show about every thing we did in drama. I put this on my blog to give you an idea of what we did in drama and what we are going to do later on in our hurumanu.
We didn't get to do every thing on this slide show but what we did get to do was really fun

After we did the games we watched a video on freeze frame. A freeze frame is actually really simple all you do is make a pose to do with a subject and freeze in that pose and take a photo here is a photo of my group.

Thanks for coming on my blog

Digital tech

These past 8 weeks in digital tech we have been learning and searching about the three Kaitiakis in New Zealand and making a game, app or narrative. At the start of this we were learning about Tangaroa, Tane mahuta and Tawhirimatea.
We have been doing things around coding before we we started doing anything so we knew how to make our game, app or narrative.
It was a lot of fun making the game and doing coding on code.org also hour of code, I enjoyed it because I learnt how to code. Heres a link to the game i made.

Our aim was to research the three kaitiaki, planning our game and making the game,

Reflection
When I started making my game on Gamefroot I knew nothing about it because I haven't used it before. Now that I'm finished my game I know a lot more than I did when I started.

Question
If you had the opportunity to make a game who would you like do your game about?
tane mahuta tangaroa or tawhirimatea .

Score
To make my game i chose to make it on game froot
i have an opportunity to make an app on app lab your to use scratch

The aim of my game is to collect rubbish to save the trees in the forest. You can also collect hearts as if they were a collectable to save the trees and get rid of some pollution to help the wild life.

THE FEET CAN MEASURE THE HEIGHT

THE FEET CAN MEASURE THE HEIGHT

The bones of the feet can tell a lot about a person. What do feet reveal about a person's height? Forensic anthropologists team up with law enforcers to help solve crimes.
Bones of the feet can reveal an interesting fact about an individual. Let's combine math with forensics to see how.

Aim:  To use forensic science techniques to measure the height of a criminal.

Material:

  1.  ruler
  2. foot
  3. person
  4. wall
  5. device

Steps:

  1. get a ruler
  2. measure your height
  3. record your height to a doc
  4. measure your feet
  5.  record your feet in a doc

Findings:

Name
Foot (CM)
Height (CM)
Shontelle
23.7cm
1.58cm
Addyson
21.3cm
1.60cm
Hope
23.5cm
1.57cm
Divide the length of each person's foot by his/her height. then multiply it by 100.

Stop Motion journey

For art module we are doing our stop Motion in our groups. This Monday we started filming our short film about a boy who has no friends who also gets bullied. After a very bad day the boy named jack finds a bumps into another boy who he had never seen before.
this is a photo of the cast. The man on the couch is jack, the woman in the car plays two characters she plays nicki and Vicky.

In this photo we have all of our props

Here is a little bit of what we have done so far. It is a little bit shaky due to the fact we had to do it on the iPad.
but we are still super happy with what we have.

Forgery

Graphologists are forensic experts who look at handwriting.

Many things can be forged: art works, money, writing, etc

Aim: To Analyse a signature using forensic science.

Material:

A pen / pencil
Tracing Paper
Writing paper
A ruler

Steps:

A. Top Of Letter Analysis

1. Sign your name on a sheet of writing paper and get someone else to try to copy it.
2. Place the tracing paper over both signatures and make a dot at the top point of each letter – for both signatures.
3. Join up the dots for both signatures to get two zigzag lines across the signatures. Are the lines the same?

B. Bottom of Letter Analysis

1. Put some fresh tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Put a dot at the bottom of each letter.
3. Join up the dots to make zig zag lines. Are the lines the same?

C. Slant Analysis

1. Put a fresh piece of tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Mark a vertical line down through the middle of each letter (using a ruler), slanting it in the same direction as
the letter.
3. Compare the set of lines for both signatures.
What do they tell you.

Findings:

You
Friend
Top Letter Analysis
Are the lines the same?
I got mine great My friend was close but didn't get it right
Bottom Letter Analysis
Are the lines the same?
I did goodshe go most of the bottom wrong there was some she got right
Slant Analysis
What are the slants telling you?
They were all the sameall of the letters were different

Activity : Get someone to try to forge your signature and then try both of these methods to analyse it.

Write up the findings based on the following questions.

Writing analysis of a friends forgery.

The size of the letters – all big, all small, mixed?

Where they dot the ’ i ‘– over the top or off to the left or off to the right, or not at
all

How they cross their t – straight, angled up or down, where on the t stroke it
is crossed

The slant of the letters (use a ruler) – forward, backward, upright, mixed

Are there breaks in words, or are all the letters in the words joined up

The length of stalks on y, q, p, below the lines – long or short
