The Treaty Waitangi

Whale the Treaty of Waitangi was being signed in the bay of islands. On February the 6th 1840 the Maori and the British representatives had a conflict. Due to the fact that there was to different version of the Treaty of Waitangi.

There was one in Maori and one in English the fact that over the years the wording wasn't exactly the same. Witch meant that the Maori were signing over more control and power to the British.

Ever since the year 1974 on February the 6th, New Zealand started to celebrate the public holiday of Waitangi. some people go to the bay of islands to celebrate where the treaty was signed.

We celebrate Waitangi day because we are New Zealanders! Yay

  1. Hi Addyson, what I really loved about this post was that you told us where the paper was signed and when Waitangi Day became a public holiday. what I think you could work on is giving us more information. Other than that this post was amazing. Keep up the good work.
